Best Western Hotels & Resorts has added its latest hotel, the Best Western Haven Glebe on Glebe Point Road in Sydney’s inner west. The 4-star boutique hotel has completed a AUD$2.5 million refurbishment to its 56 guest rooms and retail frontage.
Best Western Haven Glebe is located at the entrance to Glebe’s café, boutique shopping and antiquity district. Guests staying on the top floor facing Glebe Point Road will see panoramic views from the Sydney Tower Eye, to the Anzac Bridge and Darling Harbour.
Each guest room has been designed with functionality in mind. Digital features include free Wi-Fi and 40” LED TVs. The bathrooms offer a touch of luxury with rain showerheads and L’Occitane products.
The hotel caters for both leisure and business travellers with secure onsite parking, 24-hour reception, a business centre and gym. While waiting for an onsite restaurant to open, the hotel has a convenient chargeback and room service arrangement with the adjacent Glebe Cafe.
Best Western Australasia’s newly appointed Head of Commercial, Steve Richards said the new Glebe hotel opens just in time for the Chinese Lunar New Year.
“Best Western’s newest accommodation in Glebe will help ease the strain on Sydney’s overall room capacity, especially this week during the city’s Chinese Lunar New Year celebrations. Best Western Haven Glebe is a classic example of the high calibre of hotels joining the midscale Best Western brand. After being closed to undergo extensive refurbishments, the property re-opens with new digital in-room features and a modern façade to fit in with Glebe’s local suburban feel,” Mr Richards said.
Best Western Haven Glebe’s general manager, Shabir Satya said the boutique hotel is a perfect fit for Glebe, a suburb on the city fringe in the midst of renewing its urban frontage: “Glebe is a great inner-city waterfront suburb without the barrage of city traffic. It draws a lot of guests who select our hotel simply for its close proximity to Central Station and Sydney harbour inlets. We’re expecting bookings to pick up as the Mardi Gras and Vivid Sydney festivals draw closer,” Mr Satya said.
At Best Western Haven Glebe, guests will be closely located to Darling Harbour, the Sydney Fish Markets, Broadway and Market City Shopping Centres, Chinatown, The University of Sydney and Sydney CBD.
Best Western Haven Glebe becomes Best Western’s fifth Sydney hotel, joining the likes of Best Western PLUS Hotel Stellar in Sydney CBD and Best Western Twin Towers in Artarmon.
