The Queen’s Birthday long weekend is fast approaching. I don’t know about you, but it’s a rare chance for me to spend some quality time with my family and friends. A 3-day weekend means I can also plan a spontaneous trip. Here’s four fun activities I’m putting on my long weekend bucket list.
Each year, we climb up onto the kitchen chair to pull the Christmas tree box down from the cupboard, trying not to drop it on our heads. Dusting off the star and finding the left arm of the angel, we hang multi-coloured balls by string and miniature macaroni houses (last year’s Grade 4 project) from the tree and always run out of tinsel.
My idea of a good holiday involves plenty of good food and wine, so combining culinary festivals with trips around Australia sounds like absolute heaven to me. Unfortunately they can dry up around winter, but this is the time when I most feel like venturing out in search of some warm, comforting food and exquisite wine.
