- Fishing : The best fishing is to be had either downstream of Echuca towards Torrumbarry, where the river is wide and deep, or upstream, where the river narrows and races through the Moira and Barmah redgum forests.

- Cycling and Walking : The best way to enjoy Echuca is to get out in the fresh air. There are a couple of scenic routes for walking or cycling that take in the local sites.

- Shopping : There are two main shopping areas in Echuca. The first is High Street which is a reminder of the good old days. Old fashioned tearooms, craft shops and gift shops can be found in this area. Hare Street is the other area with major shopping chains and boutiques.
