Paddle Boating
As a riverside town, many of Mildura’s activities centre on the Murray. You can take a dip in the river, go fishing for Murray cod or kayak on the spectacular riverbed. Wineries
The Mediterranean climate of the Mildura Murray Darling region makes it perfect for wine making. The first vintage was produced here in 1891. Back then the European connoisseurs were dubious about wines from this bold new world but now the shiraz, cabernet sauvignons and other varieties of wine produced here are received with thunderous applause.
Hot Air Ballooning
Witness the changing landscapes along the meandering Murray as you follow it from up to 300m above. Watch the sun rise over this bountiful region or marvel at its hues as it sets. Festivals
Mildura is festival-mad! There is an event held here for just about everything, from the arts, to chess, bowls and wrestling. Some of the most popular festivals are the Mildura Wentworth Arts Festival in March, Mildura Country Music festival in September and Mildura Jazz, Food and Wine Festival in November.
Mungo National Park
Mungo National Park is located 110km north-east of Mildura. It is a remote national park of harsh landscapes that were heritage listed when evidence of Aboriginal settlements dating back some 40,000 years were discovered here. The other major point of interest at Mungo National Park is the sand dunes, interestingly called The Great Walls of China.
