Dreamtime Cultural Centre

The Dreamtime Cultural Centre is a centre for Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander culture and history. Take a guided tour of the centre where you will hear the unique sounds of the didgeridoo, see Djarn Djarn dancers (traditional male dancing group) and learn how to throw a boomerang. In the Torres Straight Islander Village you will learn about the unique culture of the Torres Straight Islanders and view their traditional artefacts.
Capricorn Caves

The Capricorn Caves are a system of unique, underground caves located north of Rockhampton. The caves contain marine fossils encrusted on the cave walls, evidence of the coral reef that existed 390 million years ago. You can take an easy walking tour of the caves or an adventure tour where you can crawl through smaller caves, climb surfaces and swing on flying foxes. The natural acoustics of the caves makes it ideal for a unique wedding venue.
Crocodile Farm

23km east of Rockhampton is the famous Koorana Crocodile Farm. You can take a public tour of the farm and learn all about these fierce, ancient reptiles. The farm also offers Spotlight Dinner Tours where you learn to spot crocodiles at night. March, April and May are hatching months where you can witness baby crocodiles emerging from their eggs.
Byfield Forest

Byfield Forest is a great area to get out there and experience nature at its best. It is pure, undeveloped terrain with plentiful birdlife, ancient cycads and Byfield ferns. One or two crocodiles have also been spotted here. There are picnic areas and camping sites to make use of, and endless walking trails.
