Best Western predicts strong hotel growth in Queensland

Queensland will continue to lead the way in Australian hotel development and growth, with many locations already seeing record visitors in the first month of 2013.

Kimi Anderson, General Manager of Sales and Marketing said, “Brisbane has always been a strong destination, for both corporate and leisure visitors. We’re also seeing strong tourist growth in places like Toowoomba, Bundaberg and Port Douglas”.

Bookings were up 10% on last year, in the last quarter of 2012, proving that Australian and international visitors are slowly finding their way back to the sunny state.

Queensland properties also proved their hard work and dedication with six of Best Western’s 29 Queensland properties achieving an International Quality Award from the global brand.

The award is only given to a few select properties throughout the world that reach an exemplary level of quality. Only 35 Australian properties have been awarded the accolade last year and every Best Western is rigorously assessed using strict criteria. The guide covers cleanliness and quality of both the guest rooms and public areas and also brand standards. All properties must achieve at least minimum standards to remain part of the group, however some go on to achieve global recognition with the ‘International Quality’ award for their excellence.
